DingTalk, an enterprise-focused competitor to Microsoft Teams with over 500 million active users, has received some new capabilities from Alibaba.

DingTalk is a service provided by Alibaba Cloud, one of the world’s major cloud service providers in terms of market share, and it includes communication, task management, audio and video conferencing, live-streaming, real-time interpretation, and other features.

As per a Tech news site, the service is now free for Chinese SMBs, with an English language version accessible in Malaysia. However, with different avenues for extension and multiple subscription levels, Alibaba is attempting to lure a broader range of clients.

According to the company, the free basic version will continue to be accessible, together with 3 premium levels with additional functionality, and a new commission model for software and hardware providers will be implemented.

During the epidemic, corporate messaging applications took off as practically all organizations transitioned to a virtual working approach.

Zoom was indeed the immediate victor, with the greatest video features, but Microsoft known for products like Office 365 was fast to develop and update Microsoft Teams, its all-in-one solution, and the corporation’s pre-existing connection with companies was a big plus.

Aside from that, a slew of other platforms has accommodated remote requirements.

Despite the disparity between the Chinese and Western internets, it seems to reason that Alibaba – one of China’s top corporations, together with Tencent – provides the same facilities for a home audience.

According to Alibaba, over 19 million companies now use DingTalk, which is a significant quantity, and one-third of clients have more than 2,000 workers. more than 2.4 million add-on options are provided by approximately 1.9 million developers.

Thus far, Microsoft Teams has the most MAUs. DingTalk has 144 million monthly active users in December last year, opposed to Microsoft’s January announcement this year that Teams had exceeded 270 million monthly active users.
